I only spent a few hours at SDCC (I never plan it out in advance!) so I don’t have a lot more to share besides the amazing Mr Robot VR Experience and the Man in the High Castle museum. However, there are a few other moments that I think are worth sharing.
I didn’t get a photo of these myself, but here’s a video of the giant inflated Powerpuff Girls across the street from the convention center.
It wasn’t clear what they were advertising (expect, you know, the Powerpuff Girls), but it was a cool addition to the scene.
For some reason there were random KFC-related items here and there. The most terrifying of them was this Colonel Sanders bench. I don’t know why you would want to sit on his lap, much less his freakishly elongated lap.
I saw this sign while we were waiting in line for the Mr Robot Experience and it amused me far more than it should have. I just love the idea of random people who completely ignored multiple updates still showing up at the wrong place.
Every time I saw a red fez, I immediately thought, “Grunkle Stan?!” I was never sure if any of them were, though. (Pretty sure none were the 11th Doctor, btw.) I did, however, see Dipper and Mabel.
Some guy was driving around downtown in a DeLorean. With the door open. And a hover board next to him. And a multi-colored had on his head. And he was blasting “The Power of Love.” This is why Comic-Con is the best thing to happen in San Diego.
